In the past few days Bangtan Boys member, J-Hope was receiving negativity via twitter calling him ugly, fat and saying that he should be kicked out of BTS.
This personally blew my mind because I’m not aware of anything that he could have possibly done to cause this hatred. He does his job well as a dancer and rapper so I was confused why this would happen at all. The point is that it’snot like he’s not talented so why did this happen to him? Why does this happen to Kpop celebrities at all?
It’s fine if you don’t like a singer and in fact you could hate them too but to say it to them, whether it’s to their face or via internet, it’s possible that they will get hurt and they almost always do. In an industry that capitalizes on looks and raw talent it’s unfair for someone to completely disregard everything that a Kpop star has worked for. It’s more problematic because what the essentially market is themselves; their voices, their looks, etc. It takes a lot to even pursue a career in music and I do think everyone should be open to criticism but this is just plain disrespectful.
I think that people need to be a lot more respectful and aware of how vulnerable singers can be, especially people in Kpop. A lot of kpop starts are very young and impressionable. This goes both ways, I feel uncomfortable with people hating on them and worshiping the ground they walk on (I will discuss this further in a future post).
The fact that the hate got big enough for the BTS members to be made aware is just so uncomfortable to even think about. Stop wasting your time and do something more productive like watching anime.
I’ve kept up with BTS for a while and know them pretty well based of their shows and what not, and I can’t understand what would warrant J-Hope receiving this hate. He made a log just yesterday and he looked so depressed for the first time in…since he debuted. Regardless of who you are you shouldn’t be treated like this or treat others like this.
J-Hope fighting. BTS fighting.
